Trail Rides into the Haleakala Crater
General information about our tours:
The Ka Mao O Pele Junction ride check in time is 8:30 a.m. and returns approximately 1:30 p.m.
This is a 8 mile horseback ride from the summit to the floor of the crater. This is our most popular trail ride. Lunch will be served at the Junction.
The Kapalaoa Cabin Ride check in time is 8:30 a.m. and returns approximately 3:30 p.m.
This is a 12 mile horseback ride from the summit to Kapalaoa Cabin and return. This is a long ride and only recommended for clients who ride at least once or twice per week. Lunch will be served at the Cabin.
Our experienced guides will narrate the fascinating history of Haleakala and its geology, with explanations of rare plants and animals found only on Maui. Come enjoy incredible views, share some stories and experience this fun and unique tour. You will be provided with windbreaker jackets/pants and gloves for both tours. We ask that you dress warmly and wear closed toed shoes. Hats, sunglasses and camera are recommended. We look forward to providing you with a one-of-a-kind horseback riding experience while visiting Maui.
Must be 10 years old, not pregnant and weigh less than 210 lbs. Clients must sign an acknowledgment of risk.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
We have a 24 hour cancellation policy. For groups of 3 or more, there is a 48 hour cancellation policy.

Directions to the Summit of Haleakala Crater
From Lahaina: Leave at 6 am, and take highway 30 to highway 380. Turn right on highway 36, then right on highway 37. Continue on to highway 377, then left turn on highway 378 to the summit. We meet at the House of the Sun Visitor Center at 8:30 am.
From Kihei or Wailea: Leave at 6:15 am, and take highway 31 to highway 380. Turn right on highway 36, then right on highway 37. Continue on to highway 377, then left turn on highway 378 to the summit. We meet at the House of the Sun Visitor Center at 8:30 am.
